Job Description

Your primary accountability is to build and manage a strategy (to be implemented by your team) using historic data, trend and market analytics targeted to the young South African millennial consumer that will deliver and/or exceed all KPI’s. You will manage a small team of buyers to deliver a world class product.


The Role:

·         Fresh approach to newness, innovation.

·         Be accountable for delivery to all KPI’s including sales and stock targets.

·         Through in depth market and data analysis create a strategy that brings the world’s best product to the customers exclusively and at the right price to drive continued profitable sales growth.

·         Be first to market through monitoring of global and local markets.

·         Manage your team to ensure effective delivery to all strategic intents.

·         Partner with the Sourcing team to ensure delivery of private label merchandise delivers to retail strategy against pricing, margin and assortment.

·         Be accountable for securing and managing key accounts and maintain strong working relationships to negotiate best price, great value offers and exclusive stock.

·         Working closely with the retail analyst to gain insight through data analytics to trade stock ensuring wins are being capitalised on and poor performers are being managed out.

·         Partner with the Retail Analyst jointly analyse the data to create a customer centric and profitable promotional strategy.

·         Lead by example to ensure your team use the company values to drive behaviours and decisions.

·         Collaborate effectively with internal teams to deliver a world class customer experience through all platforms of engagement including, web content, marketing, social and customer support.

·         Partner with the logistics team to ensure the retail team supports the on time and accurate delivery of stock 

·         Motivate and develop your team, while ensuring appropriate succession planning.

Key Requirements

·         Apartment / homeware buying experience a plus.

·         Matric (grade 12) exemption

·         Relevant Diploma or Degree in Fashion, Marketing, Design, BSC or BComm

·         8+ years’ experience in retail

·         Competency in MS Office packages specifically in excel

·         Deep knowledge and understanding of retail maths

·         Proven ability in analytics & logical interpretation of data
