Job Description

You’ll be the technical expert who works within Womenswear and oversees multiple suppliers. You will also be working on projects in their wider womenswear team to ensure their products don’t just look great, but fit really well and perform too. 


Reports to:



  • Providing strong technical support for the Buying and Design teams, drawing on a solid understanding of the manufacturing processes across multiple product categories within womenswear.
  • Taking ownership of the sealing process from design sample through to production, working to tight critical paths.
  • Creating and managing a block library, ensuring continuity and consistency across the range.
  • Analysing returns figures, identify issues, and put corrective action plans in place.
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers, identifying potential risks and opportunities in the supply base and drive improvement initiatives.
  • Through fit days, bench-marking and wearer trials, make sure that private label product has the best possible fit and quality, and is ahead of our competitors.
  • Risks assessing products in terms of safety and with an eye on International regulations as well as South African Standards.
  • Ensuring their products are responsibly sourced, be able to identify potential issues to flag to the necessary teams.
  • Working on wider cross-departmental projects as we grow and evolve as a company.




  • 5 to 7 years’ experience as a Garment Technologist within Womenswear across multiple product categories.
  • Excellent fabric knowledge.
  • Demonstrates great organisational skills, efficient time management and the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Has excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across the business and with suppliers.
  • Has extensive experience in analysing and approving test reports, ensuring their garments live up to their quality standard.
  • Has a good working knowledge of Excel, Word, and power point packages as well as the ability to quickly take on and effectively utilise in house computer systems.
  • Reliable, flexible, and honest team player.
