Celebrated for having something for everyone; Eastgate Shopping Centre is the shopping and lifestyle hub of Johannesburg's East Rand, and since its inception in 1979, has evolved into a world-class retail establishment synonymous with style.

At Eastgate Shopping Centre, every day is a fashion show and the centre is the runway, offering a host of high-fashion brands synonymous with style and savoir-faire when it comes to dressing on trend. From fashionable footwear to glamorous gowns, stylish accessories to coveted carry-alls; it’s a destination for fashion and beauty.
Exploring the avenue of fashion and beauty within the centre is the Eastgate Look of Fashion, a coveted annual event on the fashion and retail calendar. This particular pageant is not only in pursuit of a fresh, new face for Eastgate Shopping Centre for 2017, but also for an international fashion icon who will be catapulted onto an international platform of pageantry, modelling and fashion, and who will represent South Africa at the La Stella D'Europa – an international pageant held in Italy, one of the fashion capitals of the world, and home to Milan Fashion Week.
Fashion is an instant language, and Eastgate’s Look of Fashion winner 2016, Anzelle von Staden, went on to win La Stella D'Europa in Italy earlier this year.
The winner will also fast-track her way into the Miss South Africa pageant, with an automatic entry into the semi-final interview round of the pageant. Both Bokang Montjane and Marilyn Ramos held the title of  Eastgate’s Look of Fashion, before going on to win Miss South Africa in 2010 and 2012 respectively.
With the opportunity to become an Ambassador for her country and a catalyst for a better and brighter future, the winner will also become a Brand Ambassador of Eastgate Shopping Centre for the year of her reign, and walk away with a host of prizes, including an all-expenses paid trip overseas.
Today, with the age of the millennials, beauty queens are not only movers and shakers, they are brand builders and social media mavens. With platforms such as Instagram, being a stellar source of style inspiration, being a beauty queen today involves building a brand both on and offline that has longevity, and that other women can aspire to.
Not only do these young women need to be beautiful, fashionable and intelligent, they also need the savoir-faire and capability to build a credible, impressionable brand, in order to make a real impact. Fashion has to reflect who you are and what your brand stands for, and in the words of Coco Chanel; “Look for the woman in the dress, if there is no woman, there is no dress.”
Clothes aren’t going to change the world, but the women who wear them will. So much more than style, the Eastgate Look of Fashion is renowned for its' rich history and prestige as a pageant, and rolling out the red carpet of retail, the finalé will take place at Eastgate’s Strelitzia Court on Saturday, 23rd September 2017, as the handful of hopefuls take to the stage to claim the title of the new face of Eastgate and build their respective brands.
Your brand gives you stability, credibility, growth potential, loyalty and longevity; and the Eastgate Look of Fashion looks further than physical features and fashion sense, but to a forward-thinking female who is future fit and stylishly savvy.
The fashionable, futuristic female wears clothes, the clothes don’t wear her.
