How does a young designer go about getting a rail at Just*?
I dont work on the rail system like other clothing retailers. My shop is too small. I work on a consignment basis. If a designers wants me to stock them then all they have to do is phone me and make an appointment. I do need to see some samples.

What are the selection criteria?
Quality of finish and good fit are important. I look for a product/style that has commerical appeal but is still different from what's on offer at other outlets. Differentiation is important to me. The design must also be contemporary.

Are there any fees?
There are no fees.

How is pricing calculated? What is the business model?
I work on consignment. The garments are usually supplied at a wholesale price and I put on a 100% markup. I try to add VAT on top of this as I am VAT registered.

How often do the designers have to update their stock?
If sales are very good, sometimes fortnightly, but generally I'd say monthly. It's good to keep the stock fresh and new otherwise customers get bored.

Is promotion of ranges included in the deal e.g. print media and fashion shows?
I have a close relationship with the glossy magazines and merchandise from the shop is regularly used for shoots.

How many designers are currently signed up at Just*?
+_ 30 at any given time.
